September 6, 2023 //

SANTA MONICA, Calif. – With increasing consumer demand for AI-driven integrated performance and wellness services throughout the world, Upgrade Labs – the world’s first Human Upgrade™ Center and brainchild of Bulletproof Coffee founder Dave Asprey – is proud to announce it is licensed to sign franchise deals in Australia, and is actively looking for individuals with prior experience in launching a brand to become Master Franchisee Partner(s) to lead the expansion. This news is a huge step in Upgrade Labs’ growth, marking its first international expansion efforts outside the U.S and Canada.

With successful centers operating in California, Idaho, and Utah, in addition to territories sold in Austin, TX, Charlotte, NC, Nashville, TN, Bellevue, WA, and Calgary, AB, Upgrade Labs looks to continue its development internationally. The brand is seeking Master Franchisee Partner(s) to lead the way in Australia.

“The ability for us to enter Australia marks another tremendous milestone in achieving Upgrade Lab’s growth potential,” said Founder and CEO, Dave Asprey. “The ability to expand over-seas goes to show that biohacking isn’t just a trend, but a lifestyle that is being sought after by people all over the world. Australia is known for its strong interest in health and wellness, making it the perfect place to introduce Upgrade Labs and its revolutionary concepts.”

Upgrade Labs was founded in 2017 by Dave Asprey with a mission to help people reach their highest levels of performance. Asprey coined the term biohacking, which is the art and science of using technology combined with the environment in order to take control of and better human biology. The brand helps its members reach their highest level of physical performance & restorative abilities through unique technologies, giving dramatically better results in less time than they would spend exercising the old way.

Upgrade Labs locations offer innovative performance services like The Cheat Machine, providing a week’s worth of resistance training in just 15 minutes. They also provide unique recovery services, including The Big Squeeze, promoting water loss, body slimming, and toxin elimination. Members experience stronger immunity, reduced inflammation, increased energy, enhanced longevity, improved sleep, and more. Recently, Upgrade Labs added Cryotherapy, decreasing inflammation, boosting metabolism, and improving deep and REM sleep with extreme cold temperatures.

“The technologies we offer are traditionally looked at as inaccessible to those outside of the highest status, such as billionaires, celebrities, or professional athletes,” said Asprey. “This is one of the things we look to change globally with our brand. Our services are accessible to everyone, giving more people the opportunity to work on themselves in a unique and different way. Just like Bulletproof®, Upgrade Labs and its international expansion is another step in my plan to Upgrade Humanity.”

As the brand continues its franchise expansion, it is looking for single and multi-unit franchise partners in the US that are passionate about upgrading humanity and want to introduce biohacking into new communities. Including the franchise fee, the initial investment for an Upgrade Labs location range from $663,000 to $1,349,640 (USD). In Australia, Upgrade Labs is seeking individuals with prior experience in launching a brand (preferably in Australia) who can bring their expertise and insights to help successfully introduce Upgrade Labs to the market and beyond as a Master Franchisee Partner.

FOX NEWS – 10 tips to live to be 100: ‘Far more than wishful thinking,’ say longevity experts

FoxNews_PressPostImages_800x800

September 14, 2023 // By Melissa Rudy //

More and more people are making it to the 100-year milestone.

Nearly 90,000 people were at least 100 years and older in the U.S. as of 2021, almost double the amount 20 years prior, according to data from the United Nations.

So — what’s their secret?

The odds of being alive for a full century depend on many different factors, including genetics, location, gender and socioeconomics — but there are some healthy steps people can take to help improve their chances, experts say.FOX

“Gerontological research indicates that the pursuit of longevity is far more than wishful thinking,” Melanie Avalon, a health influencer, entrepreneur and biohacker based in Atlanta, told Fox News Digital.

“Modern science has revealed several actionable, evidence-based methods that can promote longevity, even for those without the ‘perfect symphony’ of genes.”

Live to 100

There are some healthy steps that people can take to improve their chances of living to their 100th birthday, experts say. Check out the 10 steps outlined in this article.  (iStock)

Fox News Digital spoke with multiple doctors, nutritionists and other wellness experts to get their top tips for boosting longevity.

Here are 10 of them.

1. Cultivate curiosity

A strong sense of curiosity — a natural desire for knowledge and exploration — is seen as a key to living a long, healthy life, according to Lauren Henkin, CEO and founder of The Humane Space, a wellness company based in Maine.

“Research suggests that adults with a continued desire to learn and explore tend to live longer than their less curious peers, even when accounting for other risk factors,” she told Fox News Digital.

Feeding our curiosity stimulates cognitive engagement and mental agility, which may help to prevent cognitive decline and neurodegenerative diseases as we age, Henkin said.

“Curiosity about other people also helps us nurture meaningful relationships that provide emotional support and reduce stress, both of which are known to enhance longevity,” she noted.

Curiosity can also support what’s known as “adaptive aging,” the expert said.

A strong sense of curiosity — a natural desire for knowledge and exploration — is seen as a key to living a long, healthy life, according to experts. (iStock)

“The more curious you are, the more likely you are to seek out solutions to the various problems that arise during the aging process,” Henkin pointed out.

“This might be one reason why studies show that curiosity in older people is associated with maintaining the health of the aging central nervous system.”

Living a more curious life might entail things like learning a new skill, traveling to a new place, reading a book about a subject that interests you or simply asking more questions in your conversations with people, Henkin said.

2. Stay social

Experts agree that regular interaction with other people is a big longevity-booster.

“Isolation is bad for brain health and increases the risk for major brain diseases, such as Alzheimer’s,” Dr. Vinita Tandon, medical director at Lifeforce, a wellness and fitness company in San Francisco, told Fox News Digital.

“The more curious you are, the more likely you are to seek out solutions to the various problems that arise during the aging process.”

“It’s important to prioritize social connectedness, and finding community and belonging can improve health and well-being,” she went on. “Pets can also be a great option for introverts.”

Dr. Sandi Petersen, senior VP of health and wellness at Pegasus Senior Living in Dallas, Texas, backs up this theory. Among her senior patients, 15 of whom have reached the 100-year mark during her career, she identifies social engagement as the common thread.

“One lady who just turned 107 goes to eat burgers with her son every week, goes to happy hour every day and has a steady stream of people in and out of her assisted living apartment — the door is propped open all the time to invite interaction,” Peterson told Fox News Digital.

3. Keep moving

“As we become older, we naturally become less mobile,” said Lindsay Tullis, a certified health coach at Mighty Health, a wellness company in South Dakota. “That immobility can lead to larger health risks, but by staying active, you can delay and reduce the risk of things like arthritis, joint issues and chronic illness.”

Not only does staying active have physical benefits, it’s also great for improving mood and brain function, Tullis told Fox News Digital.

“If you want to increase your longevity, keep your body moving,” she said. “Even just 10 minutes of movement per day can have a major impact.”

Dr. Carl P. Giordano, chief science officer and orthopedic spine surgeon at Atlantic Spine Specialists in New Jersey, told Fox News Digital that exercise has been shown to facilitate DNA repair, activate antioxidant defense mechanisms, reduce inflammation, improve immune function and boost metabolic health.

“Exercise — whether it’s strength training, aerobic conditioning, balance or stretching — is a form of adversity, as is a cold plunge,” he said. “It will make you stronger as long as it doesn’t hurt your body.”

And that doesn’t always have to mean hitting the gym or pounding the pavement.

“If you want to increase your longevity, keep your body moving. Even just 10 minutes of movement per day can have a major impact.”

As Tandon pointed out, studies have found that the longest-living people in the world don’t necessarily work out regularly or run marathons. They are the people who “move naturally in their everyday environments without thought,” whether that is gardening, walking or doing work around the house.

4. Understand your health

One of the first steps to age management is knowing where you are on the health continuum, according to Eric Casaburi, founder and CEO of Serotonin Centers, an anti-aging company in Orlando, Florida.

“Consistently tracking the progress of your body and your health is important in order to have a clear idea of what it is you need to improve and/or watch for — such as hormone levels, dietary habits and blood work,” Casaburi told Fox News Digital.

“Consistently tracking the progress of your body and your health is important in order to have a clear idea of what it is you need to improve and/or watch for,” an expert told Fox News Digital. (iStock)

“The younger a person begins to understand their personal health metrics, the better off they’ll be in the long run,” he added.

As biohacker Avalon pointed out, it’s particularly important to stay on top of cardiovascular health, as ischemic heart disease is the leading cause of mortality.

“While interpreting conventional blood lipid panels can be complicated, a person can test for the less common but more revealing apoB and Lp(a) blood biomarkers for a more clear picture of cardiovascular risk,” she told Fox News Digital.

“Testing for the genetic APOE4 allele can also reveal genetic dispositions for cardiovascular disease.”

5. Consider intermittent fasting

Caloric restriction is the only dietary approach shown in animal studies to extend lifespan, Avalon noted.

“That said, time-restricted eating, also known as intermittent fasting (IF), may be a formidable alternative, especially in humans,” she told Fox News Digital.

There are several types of intermittent fasting, but they all follow the same concept of alternating between fasting and eating for various windows of time.

Food timing - fasting

Beyond weight loss, intermittent fasting triggers a multitude of beneficial cellular processes, an expert said.  (iStock)

Beyond weight loss, intermittent fasting triggers a multitude of beneficial cellular processes, the expert said.

“These include improved metabolic function, increased insulin sensitivity, reduced levels of inflammation, activation of the AMPK pathway (a chain of cellular proteins that regulates many biological processes) and the stimulation of autophagy (a sort of cellular cleanup process),” Avalon said.

Intermittent fasting provides these health benefits without traditional calorie restriction, which can potentially cause nutrient deprivation, she added.

6. Prioritize your sleep

Dave Asprey, author of “Smarter Not Harder” and founder of Upgrade Labs, the world’s first biohacking gym in California, calls sleep the “ultimate longevity biohack.

“When you sleep, your body repairs and rejuvenates itself,” he told Fox News Digital.

“Studies show that high-quality sleep promotes skin health and youthful appearance, controls insulin secretion (making you less likely to develop diabetes) and encourages healthy cell division,” all of which are essential for longevity, Asprey noted.

For a better night’s sleep, the expert recommends getting five minutes of morning sun as soon as you wake up in the morning, eating your last meal at least three hours before bedtime and wearing blue light-blocking glasses when the sun goes down.

“Artificial blue light coming from your computer screen and indoor lighting messes with your body’s natural rhythms,” Asprey said. “Wearing glasses that block these junk frequencies gives your body the signal that it’s time for bed.”

7. Get your minerals and fat-soluble vitamins

Minerals are responsible for the chemical reactions that take place in your body, helping to convert your food into energy, Asprey said.

“They work together with fat-soluble vitamins D, A, K, and E — which I like to call vitamin DAKE — to keep your immune system working right, your hormones balanced and your metabolism running properly,” he told Fox News Digital.

“Getting enough of these essential nutrients helps you stave off chronic diseases that accelerate aging.”

Most people are deficient in at least one of the fat-soluble vitamins and/or minerals, Asprey warned.

“I recommend taking a vitamin DAKE supplement and a mineral supplement daily to get everything you need to support longevity,” he said.

8. Consider taking cold showers

Studies have linked cold therapy to increased longevity and disease prevention.

With this in mind, Tandon recommends incorporating cold showers into your daily routine.

“These regulate longevity biomarkers like adiponectin, which reduces inflammation and enhances insulin sensitivity, leading to longevity,” she said.

Research has also shown that cold therapy lowers blood pressure and improves metabolism, Tandon pointed out.

“One study showed that people who regularly took cold showers saw a 29% reduction in sickness-related absences from work,” she said.

9. Be mindful of what and how much you eat

Diet is one of the most controllable factors of longevity, experts agree, with a wide range of options for nutrition improvements.

One tip is to incorporate more fermented foods. As Tandon pointed out, research shows that people who consume low-sugar, probiotic-rich fermented foods like yogurt, kefir, kimchi and miso improved their gut microbiota diversity.

“The microbiota diversity decreases inflammation markers like the C-reactive protein that is associated with heart diseases, diabetes and mental decline,” she said.

Many experts also agree that plant-focused diets are beneficial to longevity.

“Plant-centered diets are essentially normal proteins and complex carbohydrate diets,” noted Giordano.

Many experts agree that plant-focused diets are beneficial to longevity. (iStock)

“These have been shown to maintain metabolic function, decrease inflammation and down-regulate mTOR, which promotes the recycling of misfolded proteins in the cells of the body,” he added.

To regulate portion sizes and prevent obesity, Tandon also recommends following the “80 rule” when eating.

“In the city of Okinawa, one of the places in the world with the lowest rates of illness and longest life expectancy, they practice ‘Hara Hachi Bu,’ which translates to ‘eating only until 80% full,’” she said. “This practice has been shown to help Okinawans live healthier and longer lives.”

10. Connect to your purpose

Studies have shown that having a sense of purpose in life results in better cognitive function and longevity, noted Serena Poon, a nutritionist and longevity wellness expert in Los Angeles.

Finding purpose might mean taking up a hobby or learning a new complex skill, like playing an instrument or learning a new language.  (iStock)

“There’s a transformative power that arises when you’re aligned with your passions, when you sense that your actions are making a positive impact on the world, or when you feel a profound sense of purpose in your life,” she told Fox News Digital.

“These connections infuse you with a distinct vitality.”

This might also mean taking up a hobby or learning a new complex skill, like playing an instrument or learning a new language.

“Skills that require you to be mentally and physically present help exercise your brain and create strong new neural pathways,” Poon said.

“This can help when you’re trying to train your brain to adopt new habits throughout your life for longevity.”

FranchiseTimes – Biohacking Franchise Upgrade Labs Heads North With Canada Deal

RedLightPanel_PressPostImages_800x800

August 14, 2023 // On top of having extensive careers in real estate and the energy industry, Canadian entrepreneurs Bruce Timm and Dean Zipse are also passionate about wellness.

That passion led the business duo to sign a development deal with emerging brand Upgrade Labs to open the biohacking concept in Calgary, Alberta and Vancouver, British Columbia. The agreement marks the brand’s entrance into Canada.

Founded in 2017 by Dave Asprey, who also launched Bulletproof Coffee, Upgrade Labs uses technology and equipment to help customers with “biohacking.” Asprey defines biohacking as the “use of science, biology and self-experimentation” to upgrade a person’s body.

Services at Upgrade Labs include resistance training, cryotherapy, toxin elimination and more, allowing customers to both work out and recover.

Zipse, who brings a background in developing public and private North American energy service companies, said he and Timm, whose experience is in real estate, would often share tips, tricks, shortcuts and podcasts about wellness with each other. Eventually, that research led them to discovering the concept of biohacking, which led to a business idea.

“We knew that people were looking to take their health and longevity into their own hands,” Zipse said. “We also knew to enter the fitness space, you had to offer incredible value. The current fitness market is time consuming. So, we started developing a concept of efficient fitness and recovery facilities. It was during our design and concept phase that we ended up discovering Upgrade Labs.”

Realizing the franchise route was available, the pair changed course and approached the brand. The deal will allow the Calgary-based duo to open several locations across two markets in western Canada.

“We thought it was important to open in both Calgary and Vancouver,” Zipse said. “Vancouver is an hour away from the mountains, it has an active and growing population, and it has an aging population. By opening there, we can capture clients who are active, and appeal to the segment of the population that’s getting older and realizing that improved fitness is essential.”

Initially, Zipse said they will open three locations in each market, with the first set to open later this year. Eventually, Zipse said he could see them opening nine to 12 units.

According to Michael Moore, the director of franchise development at Upgrade Labs, expanding into Canada is a natural progression.

“Our initial intent from the very beginning was opening across all of North America,” Moore said. “Finding that right first partner is key, though, and that’s what makes them a great partner. They’ve been international business developers for a couple decades. While we don’t always need that criteria or level of experience from an owner, it was certainly a bonus for them to be the first.”

Upgrade Labs has three units open so far, two of them franchised. Its company-owned facility is in Santa Monica, California, while it has franchised units in the Boise, Idaho, and Salt Lake City markets. Both franchised sites opened this year.

Along with the latest Canada deal, Moore said the brand has deals signed for expansion in Austin, TX, Charlotte, NC, Nashville, TN, and Seattle, WA. As the brand continues its growth, Moore said Upgrade Labs will be on the lookout for franchisees who resonate with the biohacking concept.

“In the franchise world, that franchisee becomes the brand,” Moore said. “We’re going to be there, and we’re going to help them to a successful opening. But ultimately, the franchisee becomes the concept in that market, so they need to have their own connection to this. If they have prior experience, having started a company or been a franchisee, that simply enhances their story and allows them to hit the ground running.”

The average size of an Upgrade Labs ranges from 2,500 to 2,800 square feet. The initial investment to open a unit is between $633,000 and $1.40 million.

“We’re excited to introduce Dave’s brand and philosophy to the Canadian fitness and wellness community,” said Timm. “Both Calgary and Vancouver are drawing the attention of not just the physically active and health-conscious demographics, but also residents seeking a wellness solution that provides impactful results with significantly less time investment. Currently, there is a void in these markets for fitness and wellness options of this kind and we believe that Upgrade Labs will bridge this gap.”

Upgrade Labs locations offer innovative performance services like The Cheat Machine, providing a week’s worth of resistance training in just 15 minutes. They also provide unique recovery services, including The Big Squeeze, promoting water loss, body slimming, and toxin elimination. Members experience stronger immunity, reduced inflammation, increased energy, enhanced longevity, improved sleep, and more. Recently, Upgrade Labs added Cryotherapy, decreasing inflammation, boosting metabolism, and improving deep and REM sleep with extreme cold temperatures.

As the brand continues its franchise expansion, it is looking for single and multi-unit franchise partners that are passionate about upgrading humanity and want to introduce biohacking into new communities. Including the franchise fee, the initial investment for an Upgrade Labs location ranges from $663,000 to $1,349,640.

Boise Weekly – Biohacking Comes To Town

Franchise Magazine USA Dave Asprey and Own Upgrade Labs

June 8th, 2023 // Even if you’ve never heard of biohacking, you’re surely familiar with certain hacks like intermittent fasting, adding butter to your morning coffee, taking cold plunges, or wearing fitness-tracking technology. All of these are examples of the do-it-yourself biology hacking that has grown in popularity over the years, thanks in no small part to Dave Asprey, the so-called “father” of biohacking. Asprey has spent over two decades doing research and working with doctors, scientists, and global markets to uncover the latest and greatest biohacking technology. In 2017 he founded Upgrade Labs so that people could have access to these life-changing technologies as easily as going to your local gym. Now, Upgrade Labs’ first franchise location is opening June 10, in Meridian, with all the technology and modalities needed to make you into the best version of you.

Meridian Upgrade Labs owners Hailey Smith and Becky Granden each came to biohacking and Asprey’s particular version of it in their own way. Granden’s affinity for Asprey’s work started in 2016 when she found out her home was full of toxic mold, which was the driving force of many health issues she was experiencing. It took years of biohacking trial and error (and a home renovation) to get her health back on track. “Once I saw just how beneficial biohacking was for my health, I knew I wanted to make these services more accessible to my family, friends, and community. I’m very passionate about helping others biohack their way to true health. Being Dave’s first franchise is just the icing on the cake.”

Granden was the one to introduce Smith to Asprey, in 2017, by way of his podcast Bulletproof Radio. After listening for years and delving into the biohacking world, Smith jumped at the chance to open an Upgrade Labs franchise when the opportunity presented itself. The duo met while working at Boise Cascade over 10 years ago, and while both women have spent the last few years working in finance (Granden will continue to work her day job as an accountant while Smith has left her corporate tax management role to pursue Upgrade Labs full-time), their passion for biohacking makes them the perfect franchise owners.

“Hailey and Becky could not be a more perfect fit to join the Upgrade Labs family,” said Asprey. “We are so excited to see the positive impact Upgrade Labs will bring to the Meridian community and to continue to watch Hailey and Becky thrive in their new business.”

Upgrade Labs is built around eight technologies divided by use for performance or recovery. On the performance side are the adaptive AI bike, the Cheat Machine, Vibe, and the Oxygen Trainer. The AI recovery bike is an artificial intelligence–enhanced stationary bike that adapts to your body, giving you the perfect cardio workout and delivering the benefits of a 40-minute run in just eight minutes. The Cheat Machine is an adaptive resistance form of strength training which gets users the same results of a 45-minute workout in less than 15 minutes. Vibe is a whole-body vibration plate that encourages lymphatic movement, rapid muscular contractions, and systemic circulation to provide an effective warm up or workout. The Oxygen Trainer is used for a passive 24-minute workout that delivers alternating oxygen-rich and oxygen-reduced air to encourage maximum oxygenated blood flow to boost immunity and cardiovascular performance.

If it wasn’t obvious from the descriptions of these performance technologies, the goal is to get in your workout much quicker and more efficiently than logging hours at the gym. “The beauty of Upgrade Labs is everything is super efficient, so you can get in and get out,” said Granden.

On the recovery side are four technologies: the Big Squeeze, PEMF, the REDCharger, and Cryotherapy. The Big Squeeze is a full-body lymphatic detox massage, which boosts the immune system, slims the body, expels toxins, and is good for muscle recovery. PEMF (pulsed electromagnetic field therapy) helps to activate the body’s natural healing mechanisms, increasing energy production, immunity, detoxification and more in just a 12-minute service—the strongest commercially available PEMF. The REDCharger bed surrounds your body with red and infrared LEDs to promote muscle recovery, decrease inflammation, increase collagen, and more. Last is cryotherapy, a two-to-three-minute whole-body chill at -166 to -220 degrees, which is beneficial for pain relief, lowering inflammation, recovery, immunity, and energy.

Reading the descriptions of these technologies might make them sound like some sort of alien, elite world for professional athletes or those with serious health issues. But the beauty of Upgrade Labs is that these modalities are available for anyone, no matter their background, and can be done affordably with better results in less time. “Everyone that comes in has a different health background and reasons for utilizing our services, whether they’re there for performance and wanting to get to the next level in their sports field or really looking for recovery—it’s not just for people in fitness,” says Granden. “We also serve those in the community that are looking for extra support on their healing journeys, whether that’s injury or illness. Really, it’s our mission to upgrade humanity and help our members become the strongest, healthiest version of themselves, and they get to choose what that means to them.”

In addition to the performance and recovery aspects of Upgrade Labs, there’s also the Brain Upgrade station, which uses real-time neurofeedback to get your brain into the alpha brain wave state, giving you the benefits of meditation, but much faster.

Upgrade Labs Meridian will also feature a Danger Coffee Bar (Asprey pivoted from his famous Bulletproof Coffee to a new line of Danger Coffee), which will serve coffee that’s third-party tested to be mold free and has introduced electrolytes and 50 trace minerals, helping to hydrate you while you drink it. Coffee will be served Dangerous style, blended with MCT oil and grass-fed butter.

To visit the facility there are three options: an unlimited membership available right now at a founding member rate of $329/month (founding member rate is good through June 11) and gives members access to three upgrades a day. This includes coming in for a baseline assessment, where Upgrade Labs staff can help generate a protocol based on that assessment and a cell health analysis. If someone else in the household wishes to join that membership, they will get $75 off the second membership. Founding members also get a 10% retail discount and new member bundle. The next option is a six-pack of upgrades for $219, which is good for 60 days. Single upgrades are available for $39. Six-pack and single upgrades do not have access to the REDCharger and cryotherapy.

The June 10 grand opening will include facility tours, technology demos, raffle prizes, goods from local vendors, and a book signing with Asprey, who will be in attendance.

“I think people are ready to take more control and responsibility over their health and happiness,” said Granden. “As Idaho natives, we’re just thrilled to serve our community in this way.”

Club Industry – Upgrade Labs To Open First Location in Idaho

May 25, 2023 // SANTA MONICA, Calif. – Upgrade Labs, the world’s first Human Upgrade™ Center and brainchild of Bulletproof® Coffee founder Dave Asprey, is gearing up to open its first franchise location. Located in Meridian, Idaho at 2206 N Eagle Rd, Suite 110, this will be the brand’s newest facility with an anticipated soft opening date of May 17th, 2023. On June 10th, they will be hosting a grand opening event, offering a tour of the center, an introduction to their performance and recovery technology, opening week discounts, prize raffles, local vendors providing samples, and more.

Upgrade Labs Meridian will be the first franchise location for the brand. The facility boasts a fully remodeled interior, including upgraded air quality, grounded counters, circadian lighting, a Danger Coffee Bar, Neurofeedback station, Mitochondria station, recovery stations, and a performance and cardio station. It will be owned and operated by Idaho natives, friends, and business partners Hailey Smith and Becky Granden. The pair are health and wellness enthusiasts with a passion for sharing the benefits of biohacking, and they could not be more excited to bring the future of health and wellness to their home state and local community.

“I first discovered Dave and his work in the biohacking world after a run-in with mold-related illness during a home renovation,” shared Granden. “Once I saw just how beneficial biohacking was for my own health, I knew I wanted to help make these services more accessible to my family, friends, and community.”

One of the driving forces behind Hailey’s passion for health is her father, who first introduced her to the field before he passed away 10 years ago. Smith believes that having access to the current technologies offered at Upgrade Labs would have made a huge difference in his health, and could have extended his time with her. After working a career in tax at a Fortune 500 company, and later taking on the role of President in her father’s business, Hailey knew it was finally time for her to follow her passion. Once she learned about the opportunity to open an Upgrade Labs, she knew it was the perfect fit to carry out her dad’s legacy while helping those in her community.

“Becky and I both share a love for staying healthy and active, and we love encouraging our friends and family to do the same,” added Smith. “After my dad’s passing I knew I wanted to make these life-changing technologies available to as many people as possible, and we are so excited to be bringing Upgrade Labs to the Treasure Valley. We cannot wait to see how our services will impact our community.”

Founded in 2017 by Dave Asprey, Upgrade Labs was designed to help people reach their highest levels of performance. Asprey coined the term biohacking, which is the art and science of using technology combined with the environment in order to take control of human biology. With the help of Upgrade Labs Meridian, members will reach their highest level of physical performance & well-being through unique and innovative technologies, giving dramatically better results than traditional wellness and exercise techniques.

“Hailey and Becky could not be a more perfect fit to join the Upgrade Labs family,” said Asprey. “We are so excited to see the positive impact Upgrade Labs will bring to the Meridian community, and to continue to watch Hailey and Becky thrive in their new business.”

Upgrade Labs is actively seeking single and multi-unit franchise partners across the United States and Canada. As the brand begins its franchise expansion, it is looking for partners that are passionate about upgrading humanity and want to introduce biohacking into new communities.
